Mani Cero made in the 24th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Gaston Lucila. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fulgencio Ferrer in the 31st minute of play. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Fulgencio Ferrer to make the kick off. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Fulgencio Ferrer helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Campeones del Mundo's Fulgencio Ferrer got a free kick in the 94th minute. Venezuela's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
