Spectators: 44 (Terracing: 34, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Machado Santianes took the kick off in the first half of the match. In the 9th minute of the match Independiente del Río got a corner. Ecuador's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Emanuel Sueiro ran over to the corner to take the kick. After taking down the ball on Independiente del Río's corner Emanuel Sueiro fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Julio Vera quite easily take care of the ball. Felix Montenegro might have been able to make a better finish in the 14th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Yin Cheng Han. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Felix Montenegro ran back to his position shaking his head. 21 minutes into the game, Ecuador's Felix Montenegro nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Yin Cheng Han made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. With an all-out effort, Independiente del Río's Julio Vera threw himself towards the right post 24 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Machado Santianes, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. 26 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Emanuel Sueiro came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Felix Montenegro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Yin Cheng Han having to interfere. In the 45th minute Machado Santianes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The Independiente del Río players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Ecuador were winning 0-2.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Daniel Zorita to strike the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Independiente del Río booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 50 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rogelio Sarratea hit a great ball. Yin Cheng Han stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Cristian Sancho's shot from short distance in the 88th minute. If Machado Santianes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With his leg Yin Cheng Han managed to avoid a goal in the 92ndth minute, when Ecuador's Daniel Zorita fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Rogelio Sarratea kicked well hit freekick during the 95th minute of the match.
