In the 4th match minute, Chile was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Orlando Casaus to maneuver through the defense. Angelino Barba showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Orlando Casaus in the 7th minute of the match. Angelino Barba made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mariano Lacasa in the 8th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Belarmino Viejo in the 10th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Thiago Pliego saved Chile from getting behind. Thiago Pliego was a little too slow when Belarmino Viejo got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 13th minute. The score was now 1-0. After 18 played minutes Chile got a freekick which was hit by Francisco Carballar. The crowd rose to their feet as Club Deportivo Polonia's Belarmino Viejo slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Thiago Pliego. That made the score 2-0 after 19 minutes of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Belarmino Viejo got free with Thiago Pliego in the 22nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Gerardo Pozo's late challenge caught a Club Deportivo Polonia's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Gerardo Pozo helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Chile getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Gerardo Pozo hit a great ball. Thiago Pliego made a fantastic save in the 26th minute, when Maurino Esperta sent off a good shot on target. In the 30th minute the ball was on its way in behind Club Deportivo Polonia's goalkeeper Angelino Barba, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 33 minutes into the match, Chile's Mariano Lacasa sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Angelino Barba narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Angelino Barba made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mariano Lacasa in the 35th minute of play. 36 minutes had been played when some careless play by Club Deportivo Polonia's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Mariano Lacasa was slow to take the kick. During this time Chile's players had a chance to rest. In the 38th minute, Mariano Lacasa made a precise shot to the right of Angelino Barba. Club Deportivo Polonia's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. Mariano Lacasa ran over to the corner to take the kick. A nice corner shot did that Mariano Lacasa got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Angelino Barba quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. After a rather tough play, Club Deportivo Polonia's Dolfo Durango got a free kick in the 68th minute. Thiago Pliego showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Belarmino Viejo, who was totally free with the ball in the 73rd minute. In the 74th minute, Aquilino Velazquez ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Thiago Pliego was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Belarmino Viejo in the 78th minute of play forced Chile's goalkeeper Thiago Pliego to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. For all the effort they put into the match, the Chile players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Club Deportivo Polonia.
