In the 4th match minute, El Salvador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marco Tamayo to maneuver through the defense. Ricardo Zorita made an important save on a dangerous shot by Reynaldo Jacinto in the 8th minute. The supporters of Fenix Futebol Clube booed when El Salvador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mateo Leguizamo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ricardo Zorita showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Diogo Sá, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. In the 24th minute, Reynaldo Jacinto got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 26 played minutes El Salvador got a freekick which was hit by Jorge Magrina. Joshua Curbelo kicked well hit freekick during the 37th minute of the match. Joel Martins struck a weak shot in the 38th minute. Ricardo Zorita didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Fenix Futebol Clube. In the 42nd minute, Reynaldo Jacinto ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ricardo Zorita was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. When Reynaldo Jacinto came up free with the goalie in the 44th minute, the Fenix Futebol Clube fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Reynaldo Jacinto couldn't finish the play. The supporters of Fenix Futebol Clube booed when El Salvador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 47 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jesus Carvallo didn't get a good kick on the ball. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Diogo Sá stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Reynaldo Jacinto blasted a shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ricardo Zorita having to make a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Reynaldo Jacinto in the 53rd minute of play forced El Salvador's goalkeeper Ricardo Zorita to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 54 minutes, Reynaldo Jacinto made it 3-0 with a short kick to the right side. El Salvador's Ricardo Zorita tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Reynaldo Jacinto's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ricardo Zorita read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 57th minute of play. In the 57th minute, Reynaldo Jacinto left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Fenix Futebol Clube fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-0. Reynaldo Jacinto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Ricardo Zorita tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The crowd rose to their feet as El Salvador's Abram Luque slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Reynaldo Cardozo. That made the score 4-1 after 71 minutes of play. If Reynaldo Jacinto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Ricardo Zorita took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Reynaldo Jacinto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Moises Fernandino sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Marco Tamayo's late challenge caught a Fenix Futebol Clube's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Marco Tamayo helped the player get up and apologised. Marco Tamayo kicked well hit freekick during the 80th minute of the match. In the 82nd minute of the match Joel Martins shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ricardo Zorita showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Armand Wiryodiprojo made in the 84th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Diogo Sá immediately put the ball in play. After some fancy dribbling in the 88th minute, Diogo Sá managed to get in a good position for a shot. Fenix Futebol Clube's supporters rose to their feet, but Diogo Sá was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ricardo Zorita breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Moises Fernandino hit a great freekick 89 minutes into the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Reynaldo Jacinto in the 95th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ricardo Zorita saved El Salvador from getting behind. In the 96th minute, Reynaldo Jacinto left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Fenix Futebol Clube fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 5-1. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Fenix Futebol Clube fully deserved thier win.
