Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Tomas Illescas got the match started through his kick off. 3 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Arlindo de Salles came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jonathan Ferrant took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zhao Yue Cheng, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 8 minutes into the match, LUIZ PANATO's goal looked a bit too open when Patricio Costa came free, but Guto Taffarel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Aki Guardo got free with Jonathan Ferrant in the 10th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Jonathan Ferrant was a little too slow when Aki Guardo got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 12th minute. The score was now 1-0. 16 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Orlando Paraense came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Venezuela's attentive Jose Correa managed to snatch the ball when Pedro Luiz Paiva made a throw-in in the 20th minute of the game. If Tomas Illescas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 26 played minutes LUIZ PANATO got a freekick which was hit by Fellipe Cardozo. In the 30th minute Tomas Illescas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Guto Taffarel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. LUIZ PANATO's Arlindo de Salles got a good chance for a goal in the 38th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When LUIZ PANATO's Arlindo de Salles in the 39th minute got a chance for a shot 39th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Venezuela's goalie prevented a goal. Guto Taffarel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tomas Illescas, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. The supporters of LUIZ PANATO booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Guillermo Mariano didn't get a good kick on the ball. LUIZ PANATO's Orlando Paraense shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 46th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Jonathan Ferrant but with some difficulty. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-1.

If Tomas Illescas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 58th minute of the game. One of Venezuela:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of LUIZ PANATO:s goal. Jonathan Ferrant took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Arlindo de Salles, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 66th minute Aki Guardo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zhao Yue Cheng in the 67th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 69th minute, Tomas Illescas managed to get in a good position for a shot. Venezuela's supporters rose to their feet, but Tomas Illescas was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Guto Taffarel breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Pedro Luiz Paiva kicked well hit freekick during the 74th minute of the match. 82 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Arlindo de Salles came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Venezuela booed when LUIZ PANATO was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fellipe Cardozo didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 98 minutes, Aki Guardo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. LUIZ PANATO's supporters crossed their fingers, but Aki Guardo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. There was no doubt that LUIZ PANATO were the better team. LUIZ PANATO's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
