Cassius Byrne was slow to take the kick. During this time USA's players had a chance to rest. A collision led to USA getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Raphael Moore hit a great ball. In the 18th minute Monty Rogers shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nacho Gonzalez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. El Gallo de Moron's Nacho Gonzalez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cassius Byrne in the 24th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Cassius Byrne in the 35th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Nacho Gonzalez saved El Gallo de Moron from getting behind. El Gallo de Moron's Nacho Gonzalez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cassius Byrne in the 35th minute of play. Nacho Gonzalez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Monty Rogers, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. 38 minutes into the match, USA's goalkeeper Marco Day had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Luisinho Laguna. 40 minutes into the match, El Gallo de Moron's goal looked a bit too open when Cassius Byrne came free, but Nacho Gonzalez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Cassius Byrne to make the kick off. El Gallo de Moron's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Teofilo Garrote in the 53rd minute. Martin Cubillos was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. In the 58th minute USA were awarded a corner. Cassius Byrne went to the cornerflag to take it. Zach Harrison received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Nacho Gonzalez came out and tried to block the shot, but Zach Harrison slotted it home off the left post making it 0-1 in the 58th minute. Monty Rogers's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Nacho Gonzalez read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 68th minute of play. 70 minutes into the match, El Gallo de Moron's goalkeeper Nacho Gonzalez had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Monty Rogers. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cassius Byrne in the 73rd minute of play forced El Gallo de Moron's goalkeeper Nacho Gonzalez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Sam Campbell got free with Nacho Gonzalez in the 83rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 85th minute, Gilberto Ihazintu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Khalid Parry in the 94th minute of play forced El Gallo de Moron's goalkeeper Nacho Gonzalez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the match was over USA could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than El Gallo de Moron throughout the match.
