Ernesto Padro was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Ivo de Sousa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 6th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Julio Vera having to interfere. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Bacho Team was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hernan Ferrando didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ernesto Padro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 11th minute of play. Julio Vera made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ivo de Sousa in the 12th minute. In the 14th minute Ivo de Sousa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ernesto Padro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. Bacho Team's Ernesto Padro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Zorita in the 20th minute of play. When Leon Garcia came up free with the goalie in the 21st minute, the Bacho Team fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Leon Garcia couldn't finish the play. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ivo de Sousa in the 26th minute of play. Julio Vera made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ivo de Sousa in the 30th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 34th minute of play forced Bacho Team's goalkeeper Ernesto Padro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ernesto Padro was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Julio Vera made a fantastic save in the 43rd minute, when Ivo de Sousa sent off a good shot on target. After having played for 45 minutes, Ivo de Sousa managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Bacho Team's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ivo de Sousa was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Daniel Zorita to strike the kick off in the second half. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Daniel Zorita's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Ernesto Padro firmly grabbed it by the left post. 66 minutes into the game, David Bernabel was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Bacho Team's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ecuador the free kick. In the 68th match minute, Bacho Team was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by David Bernabel to maneuver through the defense. In the 70th minute Ivo de Sousa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ivo de Sousa recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 77th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Daniel Zorita could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 79th minute of the match, but Ernesto Padro made a huge save. In the 84th minute Ivo de Sousa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ivo de Sousa in the 88th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Aquiles Iban had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 91 minutes into the match, Bacho Team's goalkeeper Ernesto Padro had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Daniel Zorita. After a defensive mix-up in Ecuador's zone, Aquiles Iban stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Julio Vera came out of the goal and Aquiles Iban tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The Bacho Team fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Ecuador were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
