Colombia's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Axel Montenegro in the 6th minute. Colombia's Axel Montenegro was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Fernando Donatello in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Fernando Donatello took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Abram Sarmiento, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Hugo Calderona had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Abram Sarmiento sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ernani Corrêa hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. In the 19th minute Axel Montenegro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fernando Donatello saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Juan Gerber's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Pedro Manzanares firmly grabbed it by the left post. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Wágner da Costa during the 25th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Clube Audax Metropolitano's Wágner da Costa got a free kick in the 25th minute. Pedro Manzanares showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alix Vance in the 34th minute of the match. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

52 minutes into the match, Clube Audax Metropolitano's goal looked a bit too open when Abram Sarmiento came free, but Fernando Donatello reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Colombia getting a freekick after 58 minutes play. Axel Montenegro hit a great ball. Hugo Calderona received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Pedro Manzanares tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 60th minute, one of Clube Audax Metropolitano:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Clube Audax Metropolitano. Fernando Donatello had in the 61stth minute some difficulties stopping Axel Montenegro's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. The supporters of Colombia booed when Clube Audax Metropolitano was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Wágner da Costa didn't get a good kick on the ball. Colombia made a substitution. Abram Secada replaced Axel Montenegro. Wágner da Costa hit a great freekick 71 minutes into the match. Kevin Mastache took the ball and in the 72 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Fernando Donatello. Fernando Donatello dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. 75 minutes into the match, Clube Audax Metropolitano's goalkeeper Fernando Donatello had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ignacio Mastache. The audience was convinced that Hugo Calderona's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Pedro Manzanares was relentless in the 76th minute of the game. When Abram Secada came up free with the goalie in the 81st minute, the Colombia fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Abram Secada couldn't finish the play. In the 86th minute Colombia were awarded a corner. Kevin Mastache went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner led Colombia's Pascual Carballar to fire away a dangerous shot which Fernando Donatello despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Santino Seco's late challenge caught a Clube Audax Metropolitano's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Santino Seco helped the player get up and apologised. Santino Seco kicked well hit freekick during the 90th minute of the match. Fernando Donatello made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ignacio Mastache in the 94th minute. 0-3 became the score in the 94th minute when Ignacio Mastache elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. 98 minutes into the match, Clube Audax Metropolitano's goal looked a bit too open when Ignacio Mastache came free, but Fernando Donatello reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The Colombia players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
