Navin Dale hit a great freekick 7 minutes into the match. In the 11th minute Monty Rogers shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rogério Ceni saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 11th minute, Monty Rogers ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Rogério Ceni was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Diego Bradley made in the 16th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Belgrano LOS PIRATAS's Steve Harris. The supporters of USA booed when Belgrano LOS PIRATAS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cumhur Günay didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Belgrano LOS PIRATAS's zone, Zach Harrison stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rogério Ceni came out of the goal and Zach Harrison tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 28 minutes into the game, USA's Monty Rogers nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Rogério Ceni made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. In the 31st minute Cassius Byrne shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rogério Ceni saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Monty Rogers's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Rogério Ceni read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 35th minute of play. USA were awarded a corner in the 36th minute after Belgrano LOS PIRATAS's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Cassius Byrne took the corner. In the 37th play minute Teodoro Hartz came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Marco Day. 1-2. In the 44th minute, Navin Dale hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 47th minute, Monty Rogers left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The USA fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-3. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-3 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Cassius Byrne was the one to do the kick off. Belgrano LOS PIRATAS's Rogério Ceni proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 57th minute of the match, managed to save Belgrano LOS PIRATAS from getting a goal against them. The supporters of USA booed when Belgrano LOS PIRATAS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position. Aldo Franco didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 65 played minutes Belgrano LOS PIRATAS got a freekick which was hit by Aldo Franco. In the 69th minute Herbert Pracki shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marco Day saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Belgrano LOS PIRATAS's Rogério Ceni proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 71st minute of the match, managed to save Belgrano LOS PIRATAS from getting a goal against them. After some careless play in the Belgrano LOS PIRATAS defense, Jenson Smith kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Rogério Ceni. The Belgrano LOS PIRATAS fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Rogério Ceni should have stopped the shot. 94 minutes into the match, Sam Campbell had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Rogério Ceni. Belgrano LOS PIRATAS's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Sam Campbell was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-5. When the final whistle sounded USA left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Belgrano LOS PIRATAS.
