Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Clemente Tuñon in the 18th minute of the match. Clemente Tuñon recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 20th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Agustín Saelices kicked well hit freekick during the 27th minute of the match. In the 27th match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Juan Sebastián Puig to maneuver through the defense. Henry Tucknott took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniel Zorita, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Agustín Saelices kicked well hit freekick during the 32nd minute of the match. Henry Tucknott showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Sancho, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. In the 36th minute of the match Ecuador got a corner. General Velásquez's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Daniel Zorita ran over to the corner to take the kick. Luis Andino was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. Antonio Arias kicked well hit freekick during the 38th minute of the match. With a little luck, Ecuador's Julio Vera got control of the ball when Anselmo Johans tried to sneak it across the goal line. Antonio Arias hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. 42 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Jorge Vicente Squella came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 43 minutes into the game, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Henry Tucknott made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Daniel Zorita was the one to do the kick off. Luis Andino kicked well hit freekick during the 50th minute of the match. In the 51st minute Jorge Vicente Squella shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Clemente Tuñon in the 52nd minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Clemente Tuñon, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. The throw-in from Daniel Zorita in the 59th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by General Velásquez's Teofan Bozadzhiyski. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Clemente Tuñon in the 64th minute of play. General Velásquez's Henry Tucknott proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 67th minute of the match, managed to save General Velásquez from getting a goal against them. Henry Tucknott made a fantastic save in the 71st minute, when Daniel Zorita sent off a good shot on target. General Velásquez's defense didn't have a chance, in the 73rd minute, when Cristian Sancho scored to the left of an out of position Henry Tucknott, making the score, 1-2. In the 78th minute of the match, Luis Andino tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Henry Tucknott saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Ecuador were awarded a corner in the 79th minute after General Velásquez's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Daniel Zorita took the corner. Clemente Tuñon hit a great freekick 80 minutes into the match. 82 minutes into the match, General Velásquez's goalkeeper Henry Tucknott had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Daniel Zorita. Jorge Vicente Squella's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Julio Vera read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 83rd minute of play. 83 minutes into the game, General Velásquez's Jorge Vicente Squella nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Julio Vera made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-2. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cristian Sancho got free with Henry Tucknott in the 88th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 92 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Clemente Tuñon came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 96th minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Henry Tucknott saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ecuador were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
