To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 35 minutes had been played when some careless play by KFC Vliegplein's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Tomas Illescas was slow to take the kick. During this time Venezuela's players had a chance to rest. Paul-Louis Jannes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eddy Laporte, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. 44 minutes into the match, KFC Vliegplein's goal looked a bit too open when Tomas Illescas came free, but Teo De Jonge reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Eddy Laporte during the 46th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After the first half the score was level. In a very dangerous position, a player in KFC Vliegplein fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 63rd minute. Penalty! Tomas Illescas shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. 71 minutes into the game, Eddy Laporte cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. The KFC Vliegplein fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-0.
