Peru were awarded a corner in the 35th minute after Suipacha FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Luz Tejedor took the corner. 39 minutes into the match, Peru's goal looked a bit too open when Preston Keato came free, but Rolando Noboa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 44th minute, Suipacha FC's Paulo Dibala ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Rolando Noboa. Rolando Noboa yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Paulo Dibala was the one to do the kick off. Rolando Noboa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Preston Keato in the 51st minute of the match. Peru's Alonso Berganza quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Nunez Jerrold, made in the 56th minute of the game. The Peru fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Rolando Noboa should have stopped the shot. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Peru players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
