The referee ignored SUPERSTAR - DMZ's protests and gave Romeu de Godoi a yellow card for diving instead. In the 9th match minute, SUPERSTAR - DMZ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Romeu de Godoi to maneuver through the defense. 15 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Edvaldo Zonta came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some careless play in the SUPERSTAR - DMZ defense, Luis Andino kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Elder Cardoso. The SUPERSTAR - DMZ fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Elder Cardoso should have stopped the shot. With a little luck, Ecuador's Julio Vera got control of the ball when Romeu de Godoi tried to sneak it across the goal line. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Luis Andino received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Elder Cardoso tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in SUPERSTAR - DMZ's zone, Daniel Zorita stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Elder Cardoso came out of the goal and Daniel Zorita tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Cristian Sancho struck a weak shot in the 39th minute. Elder Cardoso didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Daniel Zorita made a kick off. Cristian Sancho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 51st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience thought a goal was coming when Daniel Zorita got free with Elder Cardoso in the 67th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ecuador's Daniel Zorita suffered a sore thigh after 81 minutes and couldn't finish the game. 81 minutes into the game, Igor Reis was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. SUPERSTAR - DMZ's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ecuador the free kick. A collision led to SUPERSTAR - DMZ getting a freekick after 83 minutes play. SUPERSTAR - DMZ's Romeu de Godoi got a good chance for a goal in the 90th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Felix Montenegro took the ball and in the 94 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Elder Cardoso. Elder Cardoso dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-4. Ecuador played a much better game than SUPERSTAR - DMZ and deserved their victory. The SUPERSTAR - DMZ players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
