Ecuador's Felix Montes was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Rafal Leszczynski in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. After having played for 12 minutes, Cristian Sancho managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cristian Sancho was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Rafal Leszczynski made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 14th minute of play. Camilo Gisbert hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. 17 minutes into the game, Charly Alcaraz cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Julio Vera was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The supporters of POCASPULGAS booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Primitivo Andino didn't get a good kick on the ball. Charly Alcaraz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 34 minutes, Angel Ioritz mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the POCASPULGAS and the Ecuador players grew even worse after the yellow card. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ruben Savier in the 59th minute of play. With a little luck, POCASPULGAS's Rafal Leszczynski got control of the ball when Daniel Zorita tried to sneak it across the goal line. Cristian Sancho kicked well hit freekick during the 65th minute of the match. POCASPULGAS's Abelardo Montiel was substituted for Astor Herrera. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 66 minutes play. Cristian Sancho hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 95th minute, Cristian Sancho managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Cristian Sancho was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rafal Leszczynski breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. POCASPULGAS were victorious despite being under pressure from Ecuador for much of the match.
