The Venezuela fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Luisito Suárezs short, quick shot in the 9thth minute got Jonathan Ferrant to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Adilson de Medeiros kicked well hit freekick during the 13th minute of the match. Adilson de Medeiros charged in rather forcefully in the 15th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Adilson de Medeiros the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 15 played minutes Legion of Boom got a freekick which was hit by Adilson de Medeiros. Jonathan Venegas kicked well hit freekick during the 16th minute of the match. After having played for 21 minutes, Chiquinho Vargas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Legion of Boom's supporters crossed their fingers, but Chiquinho Vargas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Tomas Illescas came up free with the goalie in the 24th minute, the Venezuela fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tomas Illescas couldn't finish the play. The crowd rose to their feet as Legion of Boom's Chiquinho Vargas slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Jonathan Ferrant. That made the score 2-1 after 26 minutes of play. The supporters of Legion of Boom booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jose Correa didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 32nd minute, one of Venezuela:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Venezuela. When the match had been going on for 34 minutes, Legion of Boom's Rony Teixeira got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Jonathan Ferrant. After a defensive mix-up in Legion of Boom's zone, Tomas Illescas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Abdi Ufki came out of the goal and Tomas Illescas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Abdi Ufki showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tomas Illescas in the 43rd minute of the match. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-1 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Tomas Illescas made a kick off. Adilson de Medeiros was shown his second yellow card after 50 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. A collision led to Legion of Boom getting a freekick after 51 minutes play. Adilson de Medeiros hit a great ball. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Giovanni Alagoano, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. A collision led to Legion of Boom getting a freekick after 58 minutes play. João Paulo Moreira hit a great ball. Through an outstanding action, after 59 minutes, Abdi Ufki successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. 60 minutes into the match, Legion of Boom's goalkeeper Abdi Ufki had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Tomas Illescas. The audience thought a goal was coming when Tomas Illescas got free with Abdi Ufki in the 62nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 70 minutes into the game, Legion of Boom's Chiquinho Vargas nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jonathan Ferrant made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-1. After 72 played minutes Legion of Boom got a freekick which was hit by Luisito Suárez. Alexandre Valladares hit a great freekick 73 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Legion of Boom's Luisito Suárez got a free kick in the 76th minute. In the 80th minute Chiquinho Vargas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 81 minutes, Jose Correa mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Venezuela and the Legion of Boom players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 81st match minute, Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jose Correa to maneuver through the defense. If Patricio Costa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 91st minute, Tomas Illescas got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The supporters of Legion of Boom booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 95 match minutes in a wonderful position. Patricio Costa didn't get a good kick on the ball. Legion of Boom walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
