Venezuela's Tomas Illescas got a good chance for a goal in the 15th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 17 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ioseba Gonzalvez. Waldemar Frænkel struck a weak shot in the 23rd minute. Jonathan Ferrant didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for 20 de Março FC. After 28 minutes Venezuela's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Constantin Pãduret who took care of the corner kick. The crowd rose to their feet as 20 de Março FC's Waldemar Frænkel slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Jonathan Ferrant. That made the score 2-0 after 30 minutes of play. A collision led to 20 de Março FC getting a freekick after 33 minutes play. Björn Biörnberg hit a great ball. If Waldemar Frænkel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Tomas Illescas blasted a shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Renan Schmidt having to make a save. Renan Schmidt showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tomas Illescas, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. Jonathan Venegas kicked well hit freekick during the 38th minute of the match. 41 minutes into the match, 20 de Março FC's goal looked a bit too open when Tomas Illescas came free, but Renan Schmidt reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Ioseba Gonzalvez kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Jonathan Ferrant. That made the score 3-0 in the 44 minute of play. Renan Schmidt showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Patricio Costa in the 47th minute of the match. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Tomas Illescas to strike the kick off in the second half. 51 minutes into the game, Waldemar Frænkel cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-0. Jonathan Ferrant was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Renan Schmidt acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 54th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Tomas Illescas. After a rather tough play, Venezuela's Jose Correa got a free kick in the 55th minute. Jonathan Ferrant took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ioseba Gonzalvez, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 20 de Março FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Constantin Pãduret in the 59th minute. After 61 minutes, Alfredo Nóbrega mouthed his way into the referee's book. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The 20 de Março FC fans cheered their team off the field, for while Venezuela had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
