The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The wind increased when Daniel Zorita made the kick off in the second half. Renan Schmidt breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Luis Andino could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 83rd minute of the match, but Renan Schmidt made a huge save. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Cristian Sancho in the 85th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Renan Schmidt saved 20 de Março FC from getting behind. An unexpected shot in the 88th minute by Cristian Sancho got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Cristian Sancho struck a weak shot in the 93rd minute. Renan Schmidt didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. When the match was over Ecuador could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than 20 de Março FC throughout the match.
