Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Gilberto Eleazar started the match with the kick off. With a little luck, Ecuador's Julio Vera got control of the ball when Eurico Lima tried to sneak it across the goal line. Alejandro Avellaneda hit a great freekick 4 minutes into the match. Samuel Asteri showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 5th minute of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Carlos Cordearo during the 17th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Samuel Asteri had in the 18thth minute some difficulties stopping Daniel Zorita's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Samuel Asteri came out of the goal in the 18th minute to try and stop a shot by Ecuador's Daniel Zorita. But to his dismay, Daniel Zorita quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Samuel Asteri made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Zorita in the 21st minute of play. In the 22nd minute, Cristian Sancho got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The audience was convinced that Daniel Zorita's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Samuel Asteri was relentless in the 23rd minute of the game. A collision led to Volvimos mejores getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Alejandro Avellaneda hit a great ball. Gilberto Eleazar had several of the Ecuador's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 29 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 1-2 score and a disappointed Julio Vera as he didn't even see the shot coming. The corner ended in Daniel Zorita almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Volvimos mejores's Samuel Asteri did a great save. Cristian Sancho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Daniel Zorita to make the kick off. In the 52nd minute Gilberto Eleazar shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Volvimos mejores was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. Carlos Cordearo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Samuel Asteri didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Luis Andino went, in the 57th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-3 was the resulting score. Samuel Asteri came out of the goal in the 61st minute to try and stop a shot by Ecuador's Cristian Sancho. But to his dismay, Cristian Sancho quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-4. When the match had gone on for 65 minutes, Baraquiel Labarra put it in 2-4 from a short distance just to the right of Julio Vera. Inocencio Valente received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 69th minute. Julio Vera tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 75 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Baraquiel Labarra came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 83rd minute, Eurico Lima got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 91st match minute, Volvimos mejores was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Carlos Cordearo to maneuver through the defense. 92 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Inocencio Valente came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Ecuador walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
