The supporters of Nàstic de Tarragona booed when USA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jacob May didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Cassius Byrne in the 13th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Sixto Fraco saved Nàstic de Tarragona from getting behind. When the match clock showed 13 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Cassius Byrne sped through Nàstic de Tarragona's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Sixto Fraco. In the 17th minute Chico Vidales shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marco Day saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Nàstic de Tarragona's Sixto Fraco played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cassius Byrne in the 23rd minute of play. Sixto Fraco took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Edward Mcdonald, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Chico Vidales blasted a shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Marco Day having to make a save. Marco Day made an important save on a dangerous shot by Chico Vidales in the 28th minute. Sixto Fraco showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edward Mcdonald, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. Sixto Fraco took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cassius Byrne, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Chico Vidales's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Marco Day read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 35th minute of play. With a little luck, USA's Marco Day got control of the ball when Chico Vidales tried to sneak it across the goal line. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Cassius Byrne made a kick off. In the 51st minute Monty Rogers shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sixto Fraco saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Raphael Moore made in the 55th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Cassius Byrne. Sixto Fraco showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Monty Rogers in the 56th minute of the match. Cassius Byrne could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 62nd minute of the match, but Sixto Fraco made a huge save. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cassius Byrne got free with Sixto Fraco in the 63rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 65 minutes into the match, Chico Vidales had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Marco Day. USA's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Chico Vidales was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. USA's Sam Campbell was substituted for Cassius Byrne. Nàstic de Tarragona made a substitution. Åke Palmquist replaced Nicodemo Valines. The throw-in from Raphael Moore in the 70th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Nàstic de Tarragona's Emilio Freire. Marco Day made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Chico Vidales in the 71st minute of play. Sixto Fraco showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Monty Rogers, who was totally free with the ball in the 72nd minute. Thanks to some nice moves Sam Campbell could shoot a difficult shot in the 78th minute, which Sixto Fraco however easily saved by the left post. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Chico Vidales in the 85th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Marco Day saved USA from getting behind. Nàstic de Tarragona were awarded a corner in the 87th minute after USA's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Chico Vidales took the corner. After some careless play in the Nàstic de Tarragona defense, Sam Campbell kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Sixto Fraco. The Nàstic de Tarragona fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Sixto Fraco should have stopped the shot. A sloppy throw-in by Raphael Moore in the 91st minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Nàstic de Tarragona's Emilio Freire. 94 minutes into the match, Sam Campbell notched a goal, 1-3, to the right of Nàstic de Tarragona's Sixto Fraco. Sixto Fraco was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. USA played a much better game than Nàstic de Tarragona and deserved their victory. The Nàstic de Tarragona players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
