Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Daniel Zorita was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Vladimir Prestes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Vladimir Prestes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alberigo Prosperi in the 42nd minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Felix Montenegros short, quick shot in the 64thth minute got Vladimir Prestes to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. The Cavern Club's Alberigo Prosperi got a good chance for a goal in the 66th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alberigo Prosperi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 72nd minute Alberigo Prosperi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Camilo Gisbert charged in rather forcefully in the 77th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Camilo Gisbert the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 77 minutes play. Camilo Gisbert hit a great ball. Alberigo Prosperi struck a weak shot in the 79th minute. Julio Vera didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for The Cavern Club. After 80 minutes, Santiago Emesto mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the The Cavern Club and the Ecuador players grew even worse after the yellow card. 82 minutes into the match, The Cavern Club's goalkeeper Vladimir Prestes had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Daniel Zorita. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 86 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Alberigo Prosperi came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Daniel Zorita could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 90th minute of the match, but Vladimir Prestes made a huge save. 94 minutes into the match, Cristian Sancho had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Vladimir Prestes. The Cavern Club's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Cristian Sancho was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-2. Despite being the better team, Ecuador failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
