Leon Avellaneda showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Francisco Seco, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. Inter de Monte Grande fc were awarded a corner in the 25th minute after Uruguay's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Marcelino Ireno took the corner. Leon Avellaneda didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Francisco Seco went, in the 29th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Leon Avellaneda showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Francisco Seco, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. After 34 played minutes Inter de Monte Grande fc got a freekick which was hit by Gregorio Bidun. An unexpectedly hard shot by Francisco Seco in the 35th minute of play forced Inter de Monte Grande fc's goalkeeper Leon Avellaneda to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Brook Palmington came up free with the goalie in the 37th minute, the Inter de Monte Grande fc fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Brook Palmington couldn't finish the play. In the 46th minute of the game Benedicto Lastur made a throw-in which Gregorio Bidun played forward. 47 minutes into the match, Uruguay's goal looked a bit too open when Hernan Lazcano came free, but Joaquin Gayoso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After the first half Uruguay were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The audience thought a goal was coming when Maximiliano Escribano got free with Leon Avellaneda in the 51st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Jonathan Azibar kicked well hit freekick during the 54th minute of the match. 57 minutes into the match, Inter de Monte Grande fc's goalkeeper Leon Avellaneda had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Francisco Seco. When Maximiliano Escribano came up free with the goalie in the 58th minute, the Uruguay fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Maximiliano Escribano couldn't finish the play. In the 62nd minute, Francisco Seco got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 64 minutes into the match, Inter de Monte Grande fc's goal looked a bit too open when Alberto Gisbert came free, but Leon Avellaneda reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. But to his dismay, Maximiliano Escribano quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. Artemio Gilabert's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Joaquin Gayoso read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 94th minute of play. Uruguay's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
