The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when David Villa got the match started through his kick off. Mariano Lacasa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 3rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Chile's Thiago Pliego played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by David Villa in the 5th minute of play. Thiago Pliego came out of the goal in the 6th minute to try and stop a shot by Foguera's Yuvenaliy Berezovskiy. But to his dismay, Yuvenaliy Berezovskiy quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. Santiago Cañizares took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Orlando Casaus, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 18th minute Chile were awarded a corner. Mariano Lacasa went to the cornerflag to take it. Chile's Mariano Lacasa was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Santiago Cañizares in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. In the 20thth minute of the game David Villa who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Chile's Thiago Pliego was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Santiago Cañizares showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mariano Lacasa in the 23rd minute of the match. 28 minutes into the match, Foguera's goal looked a bit too open when Mariano Lacasa came free, but Santiago Cañizares reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Chile were awarded a corner in the 29th minute after Foguera's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Mariano Lacasa took the corner. In the 31st minute the ball was on its way in behind Foguera's goalkeeper Santiago Cañizares, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Mariano Lacasa's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Santiago Cañizares read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 33rd minute of play. A hard shot 35 in the game by Kai Rønne from a close distance when the talented Thiago Pliego managed to make a qualified save. Chile's players were relieved. Thiago Pliego showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from David Villa, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. Kai Rønne received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Thiago Pliego tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Pedro Indiano kicked well hit freekick during the 39th minute of the match. After having played for 40 minutes, David Villa managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Foguera's supporters crossed their fingers, but David Villa was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 44th minute, Mariano Lacasa left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Chile fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Mariano Lacasa made a kick off. From close distance Mariano Lacasa pressed in the 2-3 goal high up into nets stiches in the right cross 55 minutes into the game. 60 minutes into the match, David Villa had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Thiago Pliego. Chile's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that David Villa was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-3. David Villa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Thiago Pliego having to interfere. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 64th minute of the game. One of Chile:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Foguera:s goal. The audience was convinced that David Villa's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Thiago Pliego was relentless in the 66th minute of the game. Through an outstanding action, after 71 minutes, Santiago Cañizares successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Foguera's Kong Chang Yue was substituted for Allande Soto. In the 73rd minute Chile were awarded a corner. Mariano Lacasa went to the cornerflag to take it. A well-hit corner resulted in Orlando Casaus heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. The audience thought a goal was coming when Mariano Lacasa got free with Santiago Cañizares in the 75th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Thiago Pliego stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of David Villa's shot from short distance in the 77th minute. 85 minutes into the match, Foguera's goal looked a bit too open when Orlando Casaus came free, but Santiago Cañizares reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Mariano Lacasa got free with Santiago Cañizares in the 89th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 92 minutes into the game, Foguera's David Villa nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Thiago Pliego made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-3. When Mariano Lacasa fell near the penalty area in the 97th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Chile's protests and gave Mariano Lacasa a yellow card for diving instead. In the 97th minute, Mariano Lacasa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Chile booed when Foguera was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 98 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luis-Miguel Rienda didn't get a good kick on the ball. Foguera were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Chile for a fine match.
