In the 14th minute of the match Ecuador got a corner. NECKER49's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Daniel Zorita ran over to the corner to take the kick. Basilio Hegoi thought of kicking away a contribution in front of goal but messed it up so badly that the ball went to the right of an astonished Stanislas Le Duigou, a very annoying self made goal in the 14th minute which led to 0-1. In the 17th minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Stanislas Le Duigou saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Stanislas Le Duigou took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniel Zorita, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 23rd minute, Luis Andino left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ecuador fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-3. NECKER49's supporters rose to their feet, but John Skytt was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Julio Vera breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. John Skytt was the one to do the kick off. The referee showed John Skytt the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Ecuador's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
