Spectators: 462 (Terracing: 347, Seating: 106, VIP seats: 9) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Art Schulze made the kick off which started today's match. Dietrich Winkler took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Art Schulze, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 6 minutes, Wally Auffarth managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC Fano's supporters crossed their fingers, but Wally Auffarth was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Sabastian Beins took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Evren Cambaz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to FC Fano getting a freekick after 13 minutes play. Wally Auffarth hit a great ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Andrews Houldsworth during the 15th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 15 played minutes Wellington Phoenix got a freekick which was hit by Andrews Houldsworth. Dietrich Winkler showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Art Schulze in the 18th minute of the match. Leon Adelstein fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sabastian Beins having to interfere. Karl Beauchêne sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Sabastian Beins made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Evren Cambaz in the 35th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in FC Fano's zone, Art Schulze stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dietrich Winkler came out of the goal and Art Schulze tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Evren Cambaz scored 1-1 in the 38th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Sabastian Beins, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 46 minutes into the match, Wellington Phoenix's goal looked a bit too open when Leon Adelstein came free, but Sabastian Beins reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Evren Cambaz made a kick off. In the 51st minute Art Schulze shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dietrich Winkler saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Curtis Hilton fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dietrich Winkler having to interfere. Wellington Phoenix's Sabastian Beins played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Evren Cambaz in the 59th minute of play. Sabastian Beins made an important save on a dangerous shot by Evren Cambaz in the 60th minute. Evren Cambaz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Downing Beverly fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dietrich Winkler having to interfere. The crowd rose to their feet as FC Fano's Evren Cambaz slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Sabastian Beins. That made the score 1-2 after 70 minutes of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Evren Cambaz in the 74th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Sabastian Beins saved Wellington Phoenix from getting behind. In the 77th minute, Luka Tudor hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Sabastian Beins showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Leon Adelstein, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. Sabastian Beins made a fantastic save in the 83rd minute, when Evren Cambaz sent off a good shot on target. Evren Cambaz who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 87thth minute tested the skills of Sabastian Beins when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After 90 minutes of play Wellington Phoenix's Andrews Houldsworth was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. In the 90th match minute, Wellington Phoenix was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Andrews Houldsworth to maneuver through the defense. Leon Adelstein kicked well hit freekick during the 94th minute of the match. After 95 played minutes FC Fano got a freekick which was hit by Evren Cambaz.

FC Fano played a much better game than Wellington Phoenix and deserved their victory. The Wellington Phoenix players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
