Celso Damásio came out and tried to block the shot, but Váldson Lopes slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 5th minute. The supporters of Lenhadores do Mato booed when Varjoia SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Antônio do Vale didn't get a good kick on the ball. Antônio do Vale fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Celso Damásio having to interfere. If Váldson Lopes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Celso Damásio made an important save on a dangerous shot by Antônio do Vale in the 15th minute. The supporters of Lenhadores do Mato booed when Varjoia SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Raphael Antunes didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Lenhadores do Mato's Germano Malafaia got a free kick in the 18th minute. Varjoia SC's Osmar Martins played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristiano Guterres in the 20th minute of play. Celso Damásio made a fantastic save in the 21st minute, when Antônio do Vale sent off a good shot on target. The supporters of Varjoia SC booed when Lenhadores do Mato was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hélder Cruz didn't get a good kick on the ball. Celso Damásio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Váldson Lopes in the 26th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 27th minute, Váldson Lopes managed to get in a good position for a shot. Varjoia SC's supporters rose to their feet, but Váldson Lopes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Celso Damásio breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The audience thought a goal was coming when Antônio do Vale got free with Celso Damásio in the 33rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Cauã Nunes was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. Cauã Nunes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 38th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 43 minutes into the game, Lenhadores do Mato's Luís Assunção nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Osmar Martins made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Osmar Martins showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristiano Guterres in the 51st minute of the match. 52 minutes into the game, Váldson Lopes cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Celso Damásio was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Celso Damásio showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Antônio do Vale in the 55th minute of the match. The supporters of Varjoia SC booed when Lenhadores do Mato was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 59 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hélder Cruz didn't get a good kick on the ball. 60 minutes into the match, Lenhadores do Mato's goal looked a bit too open when Antônio do Vale came free, but Celso Damásio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 64 played minutes Lenhadores do Mato got a freekick which was hit by Hermano Benevides. Antônio do Vale fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Celso Damásio having to interfere. Váldson Lopes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Luan Loyola during the 81st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 81st minute, Luan Loyola hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Lenhadores do Mato booed when Varjoia SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 82 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cauã Nunes didn't get a good kick on the ball. Luís Assunção could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 88th minute of the match, but Osmar Martins made a huge save. With a little luck, Varjoia SC's Osmar Martins got control of the ball when Luís Assunção tried to sneak it across the goal line.

The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Varjoia SC fans cheered their team off the field, for while Lenhadores do Mato had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
