Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ramon María Quintana in the 18th minute of play. FC Kirchroa's Aad Zoethout played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Zorita in the 22nd minute of play. Aad Zoethout came out of the goal in the 23rd minute to try and stop a shot by Ecuador's Daniel Zorita. But to his dismay, Daniel Zorita quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Julio Vera made a fantastic save in the 31st minute, when Flavius Pantea sent off a good shot on target. 34 minutes into the match, FC Kirchroa's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Zorita came free, but Aad Zoethout reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aad Zoethout having to interfere. 44 minutes into the match, Luis Andino had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Aad Zoethout. FC Kirchroa's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Luis Andino was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. After the first half Ecuador were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Daniel Zorita stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 59th minute, Olof Hegg hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 62nd minute, Agustín Saelices reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Aad Zoethout. The goal made the score 0-4. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 67th minute of play forced FC Kirchroa's goalkeeper Aad Zoethout to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 71st minute Flavius Pantea shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Aad Zoethout showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Agustín Saelices, who was totally free with the ball in the 73rd minute. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Aad Zoethout tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. FC Kirchroa's supporters rose to their feet, but Flavius Pantea was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post.
