Oswaldo Maranhense in the 15thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Benito Sanz, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. A collision led to Costa Rica getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Aaron Alcocer hit a great ball. 17 minutes into the game, 余永川 lined in a short shot 1-0 behind a frustrated Benito Sanz. 余永川 took the ball and in the 22 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Benito Sanz. The player immediately received a yellow card. 31 minutes into the match, 余永川 had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Benito Sanz. Costa Rica's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that 余永川 was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-0. Benito Sanz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Oswaldo Maranhense in the 38th minute of the match. In the 39th minute, Gwidon Cwojdak made a precise shot to the right of Benito Sanz. Costa Rica's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-0. 47 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goal looked a bit too open when 余永川 came free, but Benito Sanz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 5-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Gwidon Cwojdak to make the kick off. In the 51st minute, 余永川 ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Benito Sanz was frozen by the shot and now it was 6-0. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gwidon Cwojdak in the 77th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Benito Sanz saved Costa Rica from getting behind. Aaron Alcocer hit a great freekick 80 minutes into the match. A collision led to Costa Rica getting a freekick after 81 minutes play. Aaron Alcocer hit a great ball. Alan Moruga's late challenge caught a Cruzeiro Esporte Clube's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Alan Moruga helped the player get up and apologised. In the 83rd match minute, Costa Rica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alan Moruga to maneuver through the defense. When Cruzeiro Esporte Clube's 余永川 in the 84th minute got a chance for a shot 84th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Cruzeiro Esporte Clube walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
