The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Milagros Fraga struck a weak shot in the 5th minute. Silvano Portillo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Peru. Silvano Portillo came out of the goal in the 8th minute to try and stop a shot by Peru's Julian Murillo. But to his dismay, Julian Murillo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Silvano Portillo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Julian Murillo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Silvano Portillo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Julian Murillo in the 16th minute of the match. Saturnino Romo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 20th minute of the match, but Rolando Noboa made a huge save. 23 minutes into the match, ☆☆El Gordo Team☆☆'s goal looked a bit too open when Julian Murillo came free, but Silvano Portillo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Humberto Cordera charged in rather forcefully in the 25th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Humberto Cordera the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to ☆☆El Gordo Team☆☆ getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Humberto Cordera hit a great ball. In the 27th minute Luz Tejedor shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Silvano Portillo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Emmanuel Reyes during the 28th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Emmanuel Reyes hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eliseo Mina in the 30th minute of play forced ☆☆El Gordo Team☆☆'s goalkeeper Silvano Portillo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 31 minutes of play, Peru's Julian Murillo made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Silvano Portillo was left in no man's land by his defense there! Julian Murillo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Silvano Portillo having to interfere. The Peru fans' excitement grew in the 36th match minute when Peru's Julian Murillo looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-3 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. 44 minutes into the match, Peru's goalkeeper Rolando Noboa had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Saturnino Romo. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-3.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Julian Murillo stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The corner led Peru's Eliseo Mina to a score. 0-4 in the 53rd minute. When the match was over Peru could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than ☆☆El Gordo Team☆☆ throughout the match.
