In the 17th minute Facundo Cadaval shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sarracino De la Rosa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Mexico booed when Cebollas was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cordero Diez didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 21 played minutes, Mexico's Joel Gaona shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Sarracino De la Rosa came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Mexico reached it. Sarracino De la Rosa was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Dante Lacasa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Julián Casado in the 79th minute of the match. 79 minutes into the game, Cebollas's Julián Casado nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Dante Lacasa made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-2. Facundo Cadaval sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out.
