The audience thought a goal was coming when Marco Valadares got free with Demonde Jacobson in the 15th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 16 minutes into the match, E.C 2 Janeiro RS's goal looked a bit too open when Finlay Stair came free, but Carlinhos da Costa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Demonde Jacobson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Válter de Sousa in the 22nd minute of the match. Marco Valadares received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Demonde Jacobson came out and tried to block the shot, but Marco Valadares slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 26th minute. A collision led to Jamaica getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Jarell Hill hit a great ball. Marco Valadares could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 31st minute of the match, but Demonde Jacobson made a huge save. The supporters of Jamaica booed when E.C 2 Janeiro RS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fellipe Rezende didn't get a good kick on the ball. Karlus Waugh fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Carlinhos da Costa having to interfere. E.C 2 Janeiro RS's Carlinhos da Costa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Finlay Stair in the 37th minute of play. Paulo Pontes's late challenge caught a Jamaica's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Paulo Pontes helped the player get up and apologised. Paulo Pontes kicked well hit freekick during the 39th minute of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Inácio Pinheiro during the 43rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, E.C 2 Janeiro RS's Inácio Pinheiro got a free kick in the 43rd minute. In the 44th minute of the match Finlay Stair sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Carlinhos da Costa skillfully saved the ball. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Marco Valadares to strike the kick off in the second half. Finlay Stair struck a weak shot in the 54th minute. Carlinhos da Costa didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Jamaica. Finlay Stair could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 58th minute of the match, but Carlinhos da Costa made a huge save. After 60 played minutes Jamaica got a freekick which was hit by Romon Oliver. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marco Valadares in the 62nd minute of play forced Jamaica's goalkeeper Demonde Jacobson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 66th minute, Paulo Pontes got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 67th minute Marco Valadares shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Demonde Jacobson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Finlay Stair kicked well hit freekick during the 70th minute of the match. Paulo Pontes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 77th minute Válter de Sousa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Demonde Jacobson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Demonde Jacobson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marco Valadares in the 79th minute of play. Demonde Jacobson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marco Valadares, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 90 minutes into the match, E.C 2 Janeiro RS's goalkeeper Carlinhos da Costa had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Finlay Stair. Carlinhos da Costa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Romon Oliver in the 91st minute of the match. Jamaica's Demonde Jacobson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marco Valadares in the 94th minute of play.
