Abbotsford FC's Yakut Vecihi was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 25th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. A collision led to Abbotsford FC getting a freekick after 27 minutes play. Parker Macinnes hit a great ball. Zhou Zhen Zhen's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Julio Vera firmly grabbed it by the left post. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Julio Vera, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. In the 47th minute, Denny Commons got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Yakut Vecihi made a kick off. Lei Wei Lin made a fantastic save in the 53rd minute, when Daniel Zorita sent off a good shot on target. The audience thought a goal was coming when Daniel Zorita got free with Lei Wei Lin in the 58th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 64th minute Yakut Vecihi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 66 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Cristian Sancho. The audience thought a goal was coming when Daniel Zorita got free with Lei Wei Lin in the 68th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Yakut Vecihi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 74 minutes into the match, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Lei Wei Lin narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. Abbotsford FC were victorious despite being under pressure from Ecuador for much of the match.
