Severo Elequemedo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Zorita in the 21st minute of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Arnaldo Furlan during the 25th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Severo Elequemedo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 53rd minute of play. After 60 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Juan Sebastián Puig. 60 minutes into the match, A.D Atlético Villa Gesell's Anier Pereyra sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Julio Vera narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 63 minutes of play, Ecuador's Luis Andino made it 0-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Severo Elequemedo was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 66th minute, Lucas Alario got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 73 played minutes A.D Atlético Villa Gesell got a freekick which was hit by Lucas Alario. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cristian Sancho might have been able to make a better finish in the 85th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Severo Elequemedo. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Cristian Sancho ran back to his position shaking his head. After 86 played minutes A.D Atlético Villa Gesell got a freekick which was hit by Ildefonso Aritza. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute.
