The supporters of Honduras booed when KARŞIYAKA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gürsel Bağcı didn't get a good kick on the ball. With an all-out effort, KARŞIYAKA's Lautaro Navarro threw himself towards the right post 24 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Gökberk Usalp, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edmundo Espiga in the 26th minute of play forced KARŞIYAKA's goalkeeper Georges-Philippe Kissinger to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Lautaro Navarro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gökberk Usalp, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Lautaro Navarro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gökberk Usalp in the 37th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Gökberk Usalp in the 38th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Lautaro Navarro prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a rather tough play, KARŞIYAKA's Umut Cevher got a free kick in the 45th minute. Lefter Hekimhanlı hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Gökberk Usalp received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 51st minute. Lautaro Navarro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. KARŞIYAKA's Georges-Philippe Kissinger proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 68th minute of the match, managed to save KARŞIYAKA from getting a goal against them.
