Johan Kiewit's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Rolando Noboa read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 5th minute of play. Leandro Munio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Julian Murillo in the 7th minute of play. 8 minutes had been played when some careless play by Bermejo Club's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Luz Tejedor was slow to take the kick. During this time Peru's players had a chance to rest. Peru's Luz Tejedor was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Leandro Munio in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Rolando Noboa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Johan Kiewit, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Bermejo Club's Leandro Munio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Julian Murillo in the 11th minute of play. With an all-out effort, Bermejo Club's Rolando Noboa threw himself towards the right post 19 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Johan Kiewit, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. An unexpectedly hard shot by Julian Murillo in the 21st minute of play forced Bermejo Club's goalkeeper Leandro Munio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Johan Kiewit fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rolando Noboa having to interfere. Eliseo Mina might have been able to make a better finish in the 35th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Leandro Munio. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Eliseo Mina ran back to his position shaking his head. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The crowd rose to their feet as Milagros Fraga kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Leandro Munio. That made the score 0-1 in the 54 minute of play. Bermejo Club made a substitution. Honorio Nikola replaced Antônio Carlos Xavier. An unexpectedly hard shot by Johan Kiewit in the 59th minute of play forced Peru's goalkeeper Rolando Noboa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 61st minute Julian Murillo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Leandro Munio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ruperto Theobald lost his temper 68 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. In the 69th minute, Ruperto Theobald hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 71st minute of the match Peru got a corner. After some careless play in the Bermejo Club defense, Milagros Fraga kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Leandro Munio. The Bermejo Club fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Leandro Munio should have stopped the shot. 78 minutes into the game, Peru's Milagros Fraga nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Leandro Munio made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3. Peru made a substitution. Rafael Gallo replaced Julian Murillo. Peru's attentive Eliseo Mina managed to snatch the ball when David Hulberto made a throw-in in the 86th minute of the game. 88 minutes into the game, Honorio Nikola cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-3. Rolando Noboa was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Through an outstanding action, after 91 minutes, Leandro Munio successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. In the 94th minute of the match Peru got a corner. Bermejo Club's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Eliseo Mina ran over to the corner to take the kick. In the 95th minute, Eliseo Mina got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Peru's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
