After a defensive mix-up in Pénzügyőr SE's zone, Luca Zorita stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Vencel Mezei came out of the goal and Luca Zorita tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Tihamér Angyal's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Dante Lacasa firmly grabbed it by the left post. Vencel Mezei took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lautaro Mancebo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Vencel Mezei showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Joel Gaona, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. In the 19th minute, András Vincze hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 21st minute Mexico were awarded a corner. Joel Gaona went to the cornerflag to take it. Herberto Mascarenhas received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Dante Lacasa came out and tried to block the shot, but Herberto Mascarenhas slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 23rd minute. In the 32nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Pénzügyőr SE's goalkeeper Vencel Mezei, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Pénzügyőr SE's Vencel Mezei played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joel Gaona in the 41st minute of play. 45 minutes into the match, Pénzügyőr SE's goal looked a bit too open when Joel Gaona came free, but Vencel Mezei reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Bertil Albäck made a kick off. If Joel Gaona had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 56th match minute, Pénzügyőr SE was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by 庄辰桑 to maneuver through the defense. In the 59th minute Bertil Albäck shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dante Lacasa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Pénzügyőr SE getting a freekick after 59 minutes play. András Vincze hit a great ball. Vencel Mezei made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. Joel Gaona was slow to take the kick. During this time Mexico's players had a chance to rest. Dante Lacasa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tihamér Angyal in the 82nd minute of play. If Lautaro Mancebo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The supporters of Pénzügyőr SE booed when Mexico was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 86 match minutes in a wonderful position. Macos Graciani didn't get a good kick on the ball.
