Pankracy Zajonc showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Julian Murillo in the 35th minute of the match. When the match had gone on for 37 minutes, Cai Yuan Yuan took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Rolando Noboa to make any attempt to save it. Peru's Alonso Berganza managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Tomasz Waldoch in the 40 minute of the game. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cai Yuan Yuan got free with Rolando Noboa in the 44th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

After some careless play in the Peru defense, Cai Yuan Yuan kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Rolando Noboa. The Peru fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Rolando Noboa should have stopped the shot. Cai Yuan Yuan scored 3-1 in the 61st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Rolando Noboa, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 67th minute MZ Fénix were awarded a corner. Aras Görkem Kaymaz went to the cornerflag to take it. Peru's Antonio Tenorio was substituted for Luz Tejedor. 85 minutes into the match, Peru's goal looked a bit too open when Cai Yuan Yuan came free, but Rolando Noboa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of MZ Fénix booed when Peru was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 91 match minutes in a wonderful position. Antonio Tenorio didn't get a good kick on the ball.
