The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The supporters of Club A. Independiente booed when C o n f i a n ç a - SE was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. Clayton Pedron didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a little luck, Club A. Independiente's Roque Rexino got control of the ball when Jeremias Maia tried to sneak it across the goal line. Club A. Independiente's defense didn't have a chance, in the 21st minute, when Clayton Pedron scored to the left of an out of position Roque Rexino, making the score, 1-0. 24 minutes into the match, Club A. Independiente's goal looked a bit too open when Genílson da Silva came free, but Roque Rexino reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Club A. Independiente's Roque Rexino played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Clayton Pedron in the 31st minute of play. After some careless play in the Club A. Independiente defense, Clayton Pedron kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Roque Rexino. The Club A. Independiente fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Roque Rexino should have stopped the shot. Roque Rexino was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Clayton Pedron showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 4-0 in the 39 minute of play. 44 minutes into the match, Clayton Pedron notched a goal, 5-0, to the right of Club A. Independiente's Roque Rexino. Roque Rexino was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After 48 minutes of play, C o n f i a n ç a - SE's Jeremias Maia made it 6-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Roque Rexino was left in no man's land by his defense there! All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Andres Ishmael stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Roque Rexino didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Clayton Pedron went, in the 53rd minute, to the upper right corner, 7-0 was the resulting score. Roque Rexino came out of the goal in the 55th minute to try and stop a shot by C o n f i a n ç a - SE's Clayton Pedron. But to his dismay, Clayton Pedron quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 8-0. 59 minutes into the game, Clayton Pedron cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 9-0. Roque Rexino was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 67th minute Jeremias Maia shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Roque Rexino saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 69 minutes into the match, Club A. Independiente's goal looked a bit too open when Clayton Pedron came free, but Roque Rexino reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Roque Rexino showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Clayton Pedron, who was totally free with the ball in the 70th minute. Roque Rexino made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Clayton Pedron in the 72nd minute of play. After 73 minutes of play, C o n f i a n ç a - SE's Jeremias Maia made it 10-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Roque Rexino was left in no man's land by his defense there! Jeremias Maia fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Roque Rexino having to interfere. Roque Rexino stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jeremias Maia's shot from short distance in the 81st minute. Roque Rexino didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when C o n f i a n ç a - SE's Jeremias Maia shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 11-0 in the ordered_time% minute. Jeremias Maia blasted a shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Roque Rexino having to make a save. Roque Rexino took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jeremias Maia, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 88th minute of the match C o n f i a n ç a - SE got a corner. Club A. Independiente's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Charles Capixaba ran over to the corner to take the kick. In the 93rd minute, Clayton Pedron hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the referee ended the match the C o n f i a n ç a - SE players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
