Diguinho Carioca took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tadeo Jakobe, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 32 minutes into the match, Jeremias Maia notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Newell´s's Cristobal Estavan. Cristobal Estavan was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Clayton Pedron made a kick off. Diguinho Carioca made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Amancio Bilintx in the 55th minute of play. Newell´s's Cristobal Estavan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Clayton Pedron in the 57th minute of play. Tadeo Jakobe kicked well hit freekick during the 58th minute of the match. C o n f i a n ç a - SE's supporters rose to their feet, but Jeremias Maia was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Cristobal Estavan breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The audience was convinced that Amancio Bilintx's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Diguinho Carioca was relentless in the 88th minute of the game. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Amancio Bilintx in the 88th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Diguinho Carioca prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Faustino Maura fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Diguinho Carioca having to interfere.
