When the match clock showed 14 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Tiberiu Iordan sped through MACUMBA's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Manga Santos. Manga Santos stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Virgílio Serpa's shot from short distance in the 16th minute. Manga Santos was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 25 minutes into the match, MACUMBA's goal looked a bit too open when Virgílio Serpa came free, but Manga Santos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. MC ESPANHOL's Tiberiu Iordan got a good chance for a goal in the 25th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 29 minutes into the game, MC ESPANHOL's Virgílio Serpa nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Manga Santos made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3. Manga Santos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Virgílio Serpa, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. The audience was convinced that Tiberiu Iordan's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Manga Santos was relentless in the 34th minute of the game. After 34 minutes, Tiberiu Iordan made it 0-4 with a short kick to the right side. MACUMBA's Manga Santos tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. The MC ESPANHOL fans' excitement grew in the 40th match minute when MC ESPANHOL's Tiberiu Iordan looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-5 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. In the 44th minute José Jofre shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Teófilo Belém saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Virgílio Serpa recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 45th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-5.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Josué Quintal to strike the kick off in the second half. A collision led to MC ESPANHOL getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Aldo Giovannelli hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, MC ESPANHOL's Virgílio Serpa got a free kick in the 73rd minute. In the 76th minute, Tiaguinho Fernandes left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The MACUMBA fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-6. Virgílio Serpa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. Manga Santos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 84 minutes, Wilson Mineiro mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the MACUMBA and the MC ESPANHOL players grew even worse after the yellow card. In a very dangerous position, a player in MACUMBA fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 84th minute. Penalty! When the match had been going on for 85 minutes, MC ESPANHOL's Aldo Giovannelli got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Manga Santos. Manga Santos stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Virgílio Serpa's shot from short distance in the 90th minute. Aldo Giovannelli kicked well hit freekick during the 91st minute of the match. The MC ESPANHOL supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing MC ESPANHOL would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
