Cristobal Estavan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Emil Wielopolski in the 12th minute of the match. 12 minutes into the match, Newell´s's goal looked a bit too open when Emil Wielopolski came free, but Cristobal Estavan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM-'s Ivan Chiuzbaian proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 13th minute of the match, managed to save Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM- from getting a goal against them. Petre Iftode succeeded in the game's 15th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 0-1. Cristobal Estavan came out of the goal in the 18th minute to try and stop a shot by Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM-'s Stasio Bienienda. But to his dismay, Stasio Bienienda quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Ivan Chiuzbaian made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Amancio Bilintx in the 23rd minute of play. Cristobal Estavan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Stasio Bienienda, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 26th minute Emil Wielopolski shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cristobal Estavan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Faustino Maura in the 28th minute of play forced Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM-'s goalkeeper Ivan Chiuzbaian to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM-'s Zhao Sen Yang in the 31st minute got a chance for a shot 31st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM-'s Emil Wielopolski managed to work through Newell´s's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Emil Wielopolski dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. Ivan Chiuzbaian made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Amancio Bilintx in the 43rd minute of play. In the 44th match minute, Newell´s was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Indiana Turban to maneuver through the defense. In the 46th minute, Newell´s's Tomás Lecanda seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Tomás Lecanda the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Newell´s protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Tomás Lecanda had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. After 45 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Newell´s! In the 48th minute there was a penalty for Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM-. Stasio Bienienda stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Cristobal Estavan. 0-3. After the first half Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM- were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Tadeo Jakobe stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Cristobal Estavan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Primitivo Grau, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. When Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM-'s Emil Wielopolski in the 59th minute got a chance for a shot 59th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Stasio Bienienda could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 79th minute of the match, but Cristobal Estavan made a huge save. 80 minutes into the match, Newell´s's goal looked a bit too open when Emil Wielopolski came free, but Cristobal Estavan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM- getting a freekick after 82 minutes play. Dacian Tilea hit a great ball. With a little luck, Newell´s's Cristobal Estavan got control of the ball when Primitivo Grau tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Faustino Maura had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM-'s Stasio Bienienda was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Cristobal Estavan in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Phoenix Baia-Mare -MM-'s fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
