Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 38th minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eugen Remus saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 46 minutes of play, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Eugen Remus was left in no man's land by his defense there! Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The wind increased when Daniel Zorita made the kick off in the second half. Cristian Sancho could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 53rd minute of the match, but Eugen Remus made a huge save. A collision led to Greenbay getting a freekick after 56 minutes play. Romeo Morrell hit a great freekick 68 minutes into the match. Cristian Sancho's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Eugen Remus read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 71st minute of play. When Primitivo Andino fell near the penalty area in the 74th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ecuador's protests and gave Primitivo Andino a yellow card for diving instead. After 74 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Primitivo Andino. Ecuador's Daniel Zorita got a good chance for a goal in the 78th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Will Alderson in the 81st minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Greenbay getting a freekick after 82 minutes play. Tyler Morton hit a great ball.
