The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Kristian Willem Neuling didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Felix Montenegro went, in the 5th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. After 10 minutes of play, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Kristian Willem Neuling was left in no man's land by his defense there! The supporters of Tiger booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luis Andino didn't get a good kick on the ball. Fulko Schwaderer fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Julio Vera having to interfere. Kristian Willem Neuling came out of the goal in the 17th minute to try and stop a shot by Ecuador's Daniel Zorita. But to his dismay, Daniel Zorita quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. After 34 minutes of play, Ecuador's Luis Andino made it 0-6 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Kristian Willem Neuling was left in no man's land by his defense there! Manuel Gebauer kicked well hit freekick during the 38th minute of the match. Julio Vera made an important save on a dangerous shot by Fulko Schwaderer in the 40th minute. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Tiger was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. Detmar Stuchtey didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 42nd minute of the match Daniel Zorita shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Kristian Willem Neuling showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. A collision led to Tiger getting a freekick after 43 minutes play. Manuel Gebauer hit a great ball. After the first half Ecuador were leading 0-6. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Tiger made a substitution. Bruno Mätz replaced Hartmut Weidenhammer. The wind increased when Edmund Schoettle made the kick off in the second half. Kristian Willem Neuling showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Sancho, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. In the 60th minute, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-7. Kristian Willem Neuling showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Sancho, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. Kristian Willem Neuling showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 69th minute of the match. Manuel Gebauer hit a great freekick 71 minutes into the match. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Kristian Willem Neuling tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 76 minutes into the match, Agustín Saelices had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Kristian Willem Neuling. Tiger's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Agustín Saelices was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-9. The audience was convinced that Cristian Sancho's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Kristian Willem Neuling was relentless in the 85th minute of the game. Kristian Willem Neuling showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Sancho, who was totally free with the ball in the 87th minute. Ecuador's Cristian Sancho got a good chance for a goal in the 89th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 90 minutes into the match, Tiger's goalkeeper Kristian Willem Neuling had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cristian Sancho. When Zinédine Stoletzky came up free with the goalie in the 94th minute, the Tiger fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Zinédine Stoletzky couldn't finish the play. Ecuador played a much better game than Tiger and deserved their victory. The Tiger players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
