With a little luck, Chile's Thiago Pliego got control of the ball when Nicolas Satordi tried to sneak it across the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Nicolas Satordi kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Thiago Pliego. That made the score 1-1 in the 17 minute of play. Rudolf Meulman took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mariano Lacasa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The crowd rose to their feet as Olimpo de Bahia Blanca's Rigoberto Inguma slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Thiago Pliego. That made the score 2-1 after 23 minutes of play. After a defensive mix-up in Olimpo de Bahia Blanca's zone, Mariano Lacasa stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rudolf Meulman came out of the goal and Mariano Lacasa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Tommi Valkama hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. When Chile's Orlando Casaus in the 31st minute got a chance for a shot 31st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Olimpo de Bahia Blanca's goalie prevented a goal. The supporters of Chile booed when Olimpo de Bahia Blanca was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 34 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nicolas Satordi didn't get a good kick on the ball. Thiago Pliego made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bonifacio Javiar in the 40th minute of play. In the 43rd match minute, Olimpo de Bahia Blanca was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Carmelo Gorka to maneuver through the defense. Olimpo de Bahia Blanca's Rudolf Meulman played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mariano Lacasa in the 46th minute of play. Mariano Lacasa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rudolf Meulman having to interfere. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Bonifacio Javiar made a kick off. Rudolf Meulman showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Orlando Casaus in the 59th minute of the match. Thiago Pliego showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bonifacio Javiar, who was totally free with the ball in the 62nd minute. After a rather tough play, Olimpo de Bahia Blanca's Tommi Valkama got a free kick in the 64th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 66th minute, Mariano Lacasa managed to get in a good position for a shot. Chile's supporters rose to their feet, but Mariano Lacasa was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rudolf Meulman breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. A collision led to Chile getting a freekick after 74 minutes play. Pedro Indiano hit a great ball. 76 minutes into the match, Chile's goal looked a bit too open when Carmelo Gorka came free, but Thiago Pliego reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thiago Pliego showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bonifacio Javiar, who was totally free with the ball in the 81st minute. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
