Alberto Tafalla fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 6th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aaron Ramsdal having to interfere. When Alberto Tafalla came up free with the goalie in the 9th minute, the Mexico fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alberto Tafalla couldn't finish the play. Dante Lacasa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Martin Juračka in the 12th minute of the match. Martin Juračka scored 1-0 in the 12th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Dante Lacasa, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lautaro Mancebo in the 22nd minute of play forced Elmtaryd Agunnaryd's goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdal to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 24th minute of the match Mexico got a corner. Elmtaryd Agunnaryd's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Joel Gaona ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner ended in Joel Gaona almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Elmtaryd Agunnaryd's Aaron Ramsdal did a great save. Dante Lacasa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alfred Markowski in the 27th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Elmtaryd Agunnaryd's Torbjörn Berg got a free kick in the 37th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ettah Kaká during the 43rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

Torbjörn Berg hit a great freekick 50 minutes into the match. In the 52nd minute Martin Juračka shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dante Lacasa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Joel Gaona received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Aaron Ramsdal tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Mexico's Dante Lacasa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hardy Haryanto in the 55th minute of play. Luca Zorita struck a weak shot in the 57th minute. Aaron Ramsdal didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Mexico. Mexico's Joel Gaona got a good chance for a goal in the 58th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Alberto Tafalla got free with Aaron Ramsdal in the 60th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Joel Gaona was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 64th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. In the 68th minute, Hardy Haryanto ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Dante Lacasa was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. If Hardy Haryanto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Alberto Tafalla's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Aaron Ramsdal read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 75th minute of play. Aaron Ramsdal showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Joel Gaona, who was totally free with the ball in the 86th minute. In the 86th minute the ball was on its way in behind Elmtaryd Agunnaryd's goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdal, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 90th minute, Alberto Tafalla managed to get in a good position for a shot. Mexico's supporters rose to their feet, but Alberto Tafalla was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Aaron Ramsdal breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Elmtaryd Agunnaryd made a substitution. Knut Rang replaced Ralf Smedfeldt. Dante Lacasa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hardy Haryanto in the 94th minute of play. Elliott Bergman hit a great freekick 95 minutes into the match.
