Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Delfim Paraense made the kick off and thus started the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Tobias Zachrisson got free with Benito Sanz in the 9th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 15 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goal looked a bit too open when Ernesto Farias came free, but Benito Sanz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Delfim Paraense in the 18th minute of play forced Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Delfim Paraense scored 2-0 in the 22nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Benito Sanz, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When the match had gone on for 27 minutes, Ernesto Farias took a quick shot and it went in 3-0 without a chance for Benito Sanz to make any attempt to save it. In the 33rd minute, Juan Rubio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Tobias Zachrisson scored 4-0 in the 33rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Benito Sanz, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Gonçalo Mazza during the 42nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In a very dangerous position, a player in Inter de Melão fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 41st minute. Penalty! Lautaro Puig struck a weak shot in the 44th minute. Claudio-Paul Taffarel didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Costa Rica. Benito Sanz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Delfim Paraense in the 46th minute of play.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Axel Tasis made a kick off. Inter de Melão's Tobias Zachrisson got a good chance for a goal in the 51st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ernesto Farias's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Benito Sanz read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 54th minute of play. In the 64th match minute, Costa Rica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Efrain Moruga to maneuver through the defense. Benito Sanz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ernesto Farias, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. Costa Rica's Benito Sanz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fabinho Valladares in the 70th minute of play. If Lautaro Puig had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Benito Sanz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Delfim Paraense in the 76th minute of the match. Benito Sanz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Delfim Paraense in the 79th minute of play. 80 minutes into the game, Eliseo Noboa was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Costa Rica's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Inter de Melão the free kick. Eliseo Noboa hit a great freekick 80 minutes into the match. Benito Sanz didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Delfim Paraense went, in the 82nd minute, to the upper right corner, 6-0 was the resulting score. Benito Sanz didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ernesto Farias went, in the 85th minute, to the upper right corner, 7-0 was the resulting score. When the referee ended the match the Inter de Melão players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
