Spectators: 45 (Terracing: 35, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Agustín Alvarez started the match with the kick off. 7 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Marcelo Zalayeta. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Zorita in the 10th minute of play forced PEÑAROL ORO Y CARBON's goalkeeper Cafu Negri to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Marcelo Zalayeta struck a weak shot in the 11th minute. Julio Vera didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for PEÑAROL ORO Y CARBON. An unexpectedly hard shot by Agustín Alvarez in the 12th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Agustín Alvarez in the 13th minute of the match. In the 13th minute, Agustín Alvarez made a precise shot to the right of Julio Vera. Ecuador's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marcelo Zalayeta, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Marcelo Zalayeta took the ball and in the 26 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Julio Vera. Julio Vera dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. Marcelo Zalayeta sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Daniel Zorita recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 34th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cafu Negri having to interfere. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 46th minute, Agustín Alvarez got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Daniel Zorita made a kick off. 51 minutes into the match, PEÑAROL ORO Y CARBON's Usain Bolt sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Julio Vera narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Agustín Alvarez in the 52nd minute of play. Daniel Zorita kicked well hit freekick during the 57th minute of the match. PEÑAROL ORO Y CARBON's Cafu Negri proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 64th minute of the match, managed to save PEÑAROL ORO Y CARBON from getting a goal against them. The crowd rose to their feet as Daniel Zorita kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Cafu Negri. That made the score 2-1 in the 64 minute of play. PEÑAROL ORO Y CARBON made a substitution. Procopio Mayorga replaced Agustín Alvarez. Rogelio Cosca scored 3-1 in the 69th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Julio Vera, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Daniel Zorita's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 75thth minute, Cafu Negri skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Cristian Sancho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. Cafu Negri tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Rogelio Cosca had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, PEÑAROL ORO Y CARBON's Gustavo Matosas got a free kick in the 91st minute.
