Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Runa United's Ted Almstedt started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 4th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 5 minutes into the game, Ted Almstedt recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Julio Vera. Ted Almstedt showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. When Ted Almstedt came up free with the goalie in the 10th minute, the Runa United fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ted Almstedt couldn't finish the play. 13 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Ted Almstedt came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 14th minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nils-Erik Åhlberg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Julio Vera stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ted Almstedt's shot from short distance in the 19th minute. In the 20th minute, Daniel Zorita ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Nils-Erik Åhlberg was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. In the 23rd minute, Ted Almstedt got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 25th minute, Cristian Sancho managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Cristian Sancho was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nils-Erik Åhlberg breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ted Almstedt in the 27th minute of play. In the 33rd minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nils-Erik Åhlberg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 37th minute, Ted Almstedt got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After having played for 41 minutes, Ted Almstedt managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Runa United's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ted Almstedt was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ecuador's Julio Vera proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 44th minute of the match, managed to save Ecuador from getting a goal against them. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ted Almstedt, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Daniel Zorita made a kick off. Julio Vera didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ted Almstedt went, in the 51st minute, to the upper right corner, 3-1 was the resulting score. The audience thought a goal was coming when Daniel Zorita got free with Nils-Erik Åhlberg in the 56th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ted Almstedt, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Ted Almstedt had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. But to his dismay, Harry Boumans quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Harry Boumans in the 73rd minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Julio Vera came out of the goal in the 73rd minute to try and stop a shot by Runa United's Harry Boumans. But to his dismay, Harry Boumans quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 6-1. Nils-Erik Åhlberg made an important save on a dangerous shot by Daniel Zorita in the 82nd minute. Runa United's Nils-Erik Åhlberg proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 88th minute of the match, managed to save Runa United from getting a goal against them. Cristian Sancho struck a weak shot in the 91st minute. Nils-Erik Åhlberg didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. After a rather tough play, Runa United's Matthias Lundin got a free kick in the 92nd minute. When Runa United's Harry Boumans in the 94th minute got a chance for a shot 94th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Ecuador's goalie prevented a goal. Many of Ecuador's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Ecuador may have spent more time on the ball, but Runa United were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
