After taking down the ball on Rayo Bengala's corner Macabeo Sampil fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Julio Vera quite easily take care of the ball. The wind increased when Daniel Zorita made the kick off in the second half. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cristian Sancho got free with Artur Boruc in the 51st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Daniel Zorita's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Artur Boruc firmly grabbed it by the left post. Agustín Saelices kicked well hit freekick during the 55th minute of the match. Julio Vera stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Macabeo Sampil's shot from short distance in the 58th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Rayo Bengala's zone, Cristian Sancho stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Artur Boruc came out of the goal and Cristian Sancho tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Agustín Saelices made a great header on Ecuador's corner, it was just that Rayo Bengala's Artur Boruc managed to reach the ball for a save. After some fancy dribbling in the 76th minute, Macabeo Sampil managed to get in a good position for a shot. Rayo Bengala's supporters rose to their feet, but Macabeo Sampil was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Julio Vera breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Rayo Bengala's Muntis Stiebriņsons was substituted for Macabeo Sampil. Julio Vera didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Nerio Etxeberria went, in the 90th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. 92 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Muntis Stiebriņsons came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Artur Boruc made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Zorita in the 94th minute of play.
