Spectators: 42 (Terracing: 32, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Runa United's Harry Boumans got a good chance for a goal in the 5th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 10 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Patricio Costa. Jonathan Ferrant took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bo Eriksson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Venezuela getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. Patricio Costa hit a great ball. After some careless play in the Venezuela defense, Ted Almstedt kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. The Venezuela fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jonathan Ferrant should have stopped the shot. Jonathan Ferrant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ted Almstedt in the 22nd minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Venezuela's Patricio Costa got a free kick in the 24th minute. When Patricio Costa came up free with the goalie in the 26th minute, the Venezuela fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Patricio Costa couldn't finish the play. Tomas Illescas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nils-Erik Åhlberg having to interfere. Bo Eriksson succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 2-0 in the 31st playminute. Rigoberto Mina kicked well hit freekick during the 35th minute of the match. Runa United's Matthias Lundin got a good chance for a goal in the 36th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of Venezuela booed when Runa United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Joel Andreasson didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 39th match minute, Runa United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bogdan Pânzaru to maneuver through the defense. Venezuela's attentive Jose Correa managed to snatch the ball when Joel Andreasson made a throw-in in the 41st minute of the game. Harry Boumans who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 44thth minute tested the skills of Jonathan Ferrant when he managed to save the team from getting behind. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Tomas Illescas made the kick off in the second half. After having played for 54 minutes, Ted Almstedt managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Runa United's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ted Almstedt was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 55 minutes into the match, Tomas Illescas dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Nils-Erik Åhlberg, 2-1. Harry Boumans recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 60th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 61 minutes into the match, Harry Boumans had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. Venezuela's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Harry Boumans was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-1. If Patricio Costa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Harry Boumans in the 74th minute of play. Rigoberto Mina's late challenge caught a Runa United's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Rigoberto Mina helped the player get up and apologised. After 76 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Venezuela! Matthias Lundin walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. Nils-Erik Åhlberg made an important save on a dangerous shot by Tomas Illescas in the 81st minute. Jonathan Venegas charged in rather forcefully in the 84th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jonathan Venegas the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 86th minute Harry Boumans shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 87 minutes Venezuela's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Matthias Lundin who took care of the corner kick. A nice corner shot did that Matthias Lundin got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Jonathan Ferrant quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. The supporters of Venezuela booed when Runa United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 90 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bogdan Pânzaru didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 92 played minutes Runa United got a freekick which was hit by Bogdan Pânzaru. When the match clock showed 96 minutes, the score became 4-2 when Tage Deckbergh sped through Venezuela's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. After a rather tough play, Runa United's Tage Deckbergh got a free kick in the 98th minute. Runa United were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Venezuela for a fine match.
