Lautaro Mancebo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 3rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ioan Voicu having to interfere. In the 5th minute, Club Atlético Temperley's Cristiano Correia dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. Mexico's Luca Zorita got a good chance for a goal in the 14th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristiano Correia in the 15th minute of play forced Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Mexico booed when Club Atlético Temperley was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lino Lizbeth didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Club Atlético Temperley's Cristiano Correia got a free kick in the 20th minute. In the 23rd minute of the match, Rolando Lopez got a very nice opportunity to score, but Dante Lacasa was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. With a little luck, Mexico's Dante Lacasa got control of the ball when Rolando Lopez tried to sneak it across the goal line. Alberto Tafalla's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ioan Voicu read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 29th minute of play. 29 minutes into the game, Mexico's Alberto Tafalla nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Rolando Lopezs short, quick shot in the 33rdth minute got Dante Lacasa to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Club Atlético Temperley's Ioan Voicu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joel Gaona in the 39th minute of play. In the 40th minute Cristiano Correia shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dante Lacasa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Mexico booed when Club Atlético Temperley was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hermengildo Raymon didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 46th minute Mexico were awarded a corner. Joel Gaona went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner led Mexico's Joel Gaona to fire away a dangerous shot which Ioan Voicu despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Ioan Voicu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luca Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 51st minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Lautaro Mancebo got free with Ioan Voicu in the 53rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 55 played minutes Club Atlético Temperley got a freekick which was hit by Hermengildo Raymon. Gaston Laurendi kicked well hit freekick during the 86th minute of the match. 91 minutes into the match, Rolando Lopez notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of Mexico's Dante Lacasa. Dante Lacasa was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Joel Gaona was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 96th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Club Atlético Temperley were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Mexico for a fine match.
